Creative Movement
An introduction to movement for children 3-4 years of age. Basic dance terminology in a fun and energetic atmosphere.
Pre-Ballet
Elementary ballet techniques are taught to strengthen and improve coordination of the child, 5-6 years of age. Ballet terms are taught to acquaint the child with the vocabulary of dance.
Classical Ballet
An artistic dance form from which the student will gain poise and grace. Ballet is characterized by the precision of movement executed gracefully. This form of dance is the foundation necessary for the proper development of a dancer.
Pointe
A form of dance where the student learns to place and control her weight correctly over the center line of balance. Pointe is the fullest extension for the female dancer.
Jazz/Hip-Hop
A class emphasizing technique, rhythm and isolation movements performed to a variety of musical styles from traditional Jazz to Hip-Hop - as seen on Broadway and in music video's.
Tap
Rhythmical patterns of sound taught, developing coordination and a sense of timing.
Modern/ Contemporary
A type of dance that allows a dancer the freedom to express more natural movements gained through modern technique.
Intensive Program
This program has been set up to accommodate those students who wish to study dance more seriously and are willing to take the extra classes necessary to achieve a higher standard of this art form.
Musical Theatre
This class will prepare the student for the stage in musical theatre. Focus on jazz, tap and contemporary dance styles. Will work on audition skills, original Broadway and new adaptive choreography set to some of Broadway's classic show tunes. Emphasis on physicality, expression and musicality. Good general overall fitness strongly suggested.
